Introduction to Ethiopian Religious(Church) History

“Ethiopia was the first established Country on earth:

and the Ethiopians  were the first who introduced the worship of gods,

and who established laws.” Stephanus of Byzantium

“In ancient time Ethiopia extended over vast domains in both Africa and Asia and

he declares that Classical historians and geographers called the whole region from India to Egypt

by the name of Ethiopia  History of Ethiopia,Vol. I Preface by Sir E.A. Wallis Budge.”

In Church history we are very well introduced to the Greco-Roman sphere, a little bit about the

Persian Sphere, the Chinese sphere and the Indian sphere without the African sphere.

But in ‘Paul and Christianity’ of the first century we have the expansion of Christianity in the

1st century in to three areas of

Jewish-Christians (Acts 5:40, 6:7, 8:1),

Helenistic Jewish-Christians (Acts 6:1, 6:5, 6:51-53) and

Gentile Christians (Act 8:14, 8:26ff) My interest is on the third part of the origin and expansion of the

bible and of Christianity in the first century to Ethiopia Via Philip and the Ethiopian Henok (enoch)

till the present. The North tip of Africa where you find the pyramids today,

Aboriginal Africans or Abeshas(Nonwhites) were living

there from the beginning and cvivilization begun in that area 15,000 years BC.

The 1st City-State of Ab-Abyssinia(in english-Absinia in Ethiopic ) emerged, not at the present day

geographic location of Ethiopia but where Egypt is today arround 6280BC (Jose V. Malcioln, the African

origin of  Mondern Judaism p.21).

The Origin of  Civilization and one God Religion. This was the world historical context and where

the 1st group of migrants who came to Africa to become Egyptians.

The 2nd  migration to Africa was Semitic, and

the 3rd    migration was Arebic(Arabic).

Traditional Ethiopian Accounts claim, Gee’z ( The language of the free tribe of Ham)

to have been the single language throughout that world before the confusion of tongues and

Ethio-Ayalew Tamiru p.20-21 supports the contention by

Gen.11:1  And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.”

1King 10:6-7  The report which I heard in my own country about you and your wisdom was true, but

I did not believe until I came and saw for my self (Queen Saba(sheba) of Absinia testing king Solomon of Israel).

Amos 9:7 Are you not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? Saith the lord.

Nahum 3:9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite.

Psalm68:31Ethiopia soon shall strech out her hands unto God.”

Acts 8:26-40 ....be hold a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of

the Ethiopians who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship.36

they came unto certain water: and the eunuch said, 'See here is water, what doth hinder me to be

baptized?' 37 And Philip said, if thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and

said 'I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God.'

This was how Ethiopia accepted Christ and Christianity not like the unauthorized Arian historians

such as Edward Ulendorff. “The Ethiopians’ 3rd edi,Oxford University Press, London 1973 are

writing as if we recieved Christianity from Rome during the time of king Ezana while the Romans

were persecuting Chrisitans until the time of Constantine and their acceptance of Christ, whom they

crucified on the Roman Cross.

For this reason Ethiopians are fighting the new Vernacular bible translation into Ethiopian languages that

disinherits the scriptures from Ethiopians who claim to be the living Ark from the beginning.

Note(NB)! Don’t be confused by the present day geographic location of Ethiopia

after south ward Egypt-Meroe-Axum movement.

“It seems probable , that the first alphabet was Ethiopic, first founded on hieroglyphics,

and afterwards modeled into more current….” James Bruce Vol. I.  P. 420-421

To make Moses the beginning and the writer of the bible, the Afro-hamitic phobia of

“Judaeo-Christian” School of thought and heritage disregards 3856 years from Adam to Moses

and views religion-history-civilization without Abyssinia and or Africa.

For the Jews there is only 5 books of the bible,

For Protestant 66 Books ( Our UTS Seminary Graduate Courses in NY were based on this),

For Catholics it is 73 Books,

For the Greek Orthodox 76/77 Books,

For the Absinians(Abyssinian) like me there is 81cannonical books

of the geez and Amaregna Holy Bible. (Amharic Bible DC R053, ISBN 9966 843 64 7)

Briefly the problem and the issue in church history  is that, the Ethiopian Religious history and

Church history claims pre Abrhamic and pre-mosaic age of the patriarchs’ heavenly reading and

writing, setteled wisdom-civilization, religion and religious philosophy with out external origin of

civilization or with out seeking outside determinators.

The Afro-Hamitic Phobia of Judeo-Christian School of thought, revision and heritage

disregards 3856 years from Adam to Moses and views Civilization, Religion

Philosophy, History and  Politics without Absinia-Ethiopia and or Africa. This is one of

the reason why this topic is of interst to me as an Ethio-Christian writing my own

Church history and its curriculm for undergraduate  theological seminaries.

For the above mentioned reasons, Moses was made the beginning of the bible and the

single writer of Genesis when he did not even exist as the tribe of Sem at this stage of

history and also was made one man Semitic Abrham the transmitter of civilization and one God

religion to Africa when it is the other way around(from Africa to Ur)

This is how church history and our educational system and curriculum addressed this issue previously

This has been done intentionaly by arian Euro-centeric scholars who are revising and rewriting

the church history of Ethiopia and Africa while being born very far from home Africa to be the masters

of the subject and the owners of this heavenly religious history; disinheriting the Absinian-Ethiopian and

the Egyptian generations historiographically. It is also for Africans, African descents

(African Americans or born black Americans) not to see our selfs in our own Christian education.

History shows us that  civilization, land and  people can be stolen. That is how we (Africa-Africans)

lost our African brothers and sisters for Euro-Arabic contact and slavery centuries ago.Religious history

and the books of the bible can be stollen and are being stollen the same way too.

For these reasons, I chose to do research and to write on this topic in academical setting to

learn and teach the true, undistorted and unrevised church history of Absinia-Ethiopia as the

owner of this religious historical heritage. And I thank UTS, NY for giviving the chance and the

social justice we deserve to correct the Euro-centeric revision and distortion of our global religious and

church history as wellas our christian education.

My Topic is ,The Ethiopian Church History And the Ethiopian Religious & Church history begins from

our 1st patriarch, Adam. My research & writing has established the age of the 22 patriarchs one by one

as God reveled himself  in the hearts and minds of these chosen people that became the oral law and

continues to the 22nd patriarch, Jacob till  the present. This is by including the Ethiopian Henok

(Enoch 1Chronicle 1:1-19) and his book which is the oldest book of the bible that prophesied the

flood(Noh-Noha) as well as the 25 other books of the bible the protestants’ bibles do not accept historically

and cannonicaly for it has no Hebrew origin and it is being claimed to be Ethiopic and African.

A brief background and insight

The semitic tribal  history begins with the 20th patriarch of Abrham not with the 1st patriarch of Adam

and their nomadic semitic migration from Ur to one of the civilization centers of the world of  Africa with

hieroglyphic writing, one God religion, Creation and the book of Henok. The 70/80 CE Jude vs. 14-15

used it as a reference when there was about 3400 years difference between them.

The key statements of this Ethio-Orthodox Religious Educational Ministry is

that the  Ethiopian Church history claims to be:

A.The first City State of Ab( City of God) Absinia or Abyssinia around 6280BC and

the Ethio-hierogliphic writing that developed to be Ethiopic-Ge’ez is much older than

the semitic Hebrew language to be its father .

B.This Ethio-Religious and Church history claims to be the living Ark with a historical

continuity from Minilik the first 982 BC to the present as opposed to the restablished jewish state

of Israel without historical continuity for 1948 years and without Christ-Christianity.

C. 900 years before Christ and about 600 years before the Greek translation of the old

testament, Ethiopia had its own Ethiopic-geez version of the bible.

(Ethio-Orthodox Biblical study book one p 30)

D.Contrary to what is commonly held, accepted and widely spread by Arian Euro-centeric and

Afro-hamitic phobic Ethiopian church history writers that say King Ezana of Ethiopia accepted

Christianity from Europe, my Ethio-Educational ministry here will prove and teach that the

Ethiopian Christian church history began around 34 CE by apostle Philip babtizing the Ethiopian

Henok (Enoch) using the bible as a reference.

Contribution to the Issue , Solution and Scope

Theoreticaly and in content, my research and writing in the academic world can expose students,

scholars and the general public to the true church history and my study and writing goes

way beyond the theory of Judeo-Christianity for the the history of Christianity in Ethiopia by making

the parameters and boundaries the origin and center of civilization, city-states of Ab-the father (City of

God) and all of the 22 patriarchs covering up to the present day of age. This study  does not contain

analytical, topical or doctrinal overview of the bible to deal with chapters and verses of the bible since

I am trying to teach and minister the Ethiopian Church history. But the synthetic overview of the 81 books

of the whole bible from the book of Henok to Solomon to revelation and this religious church history of

Ethiopia has been made my subject to be tought with an Ethiopian world outlook, heart and mind

and Ethiopian Orthodox theology and doctrine.

 Significance

Inviting the World to think out of the box of Judeo-Christianity, this successfully

completed theological graduate research done by me can introduce new concepts and approachs to

examine and present the true authorized historiography of Ethiopia, religious and church history written

in Ethiopian language by Ethiopians and in English language by those who fight against the religious

historical revision and pervertion.  I am not only hoping to contribute this to my field of study, it is also

my life time struggle and contribution writing the true  religious history of Ethiopia by helping  to correct

& unlearn what has been learned from the Judeo Christian historical revision, misrepresentation,

miseducation, the 25 'noncanonical' books and nonChalcedonian separation, as well as continental

exclusion.

This writing is proposing and asking for a socio religious and religious historical synthesis, inclusion and

integration of the undistorted and unchanged Ethiopian church history in to our educational system and

the history of the Christian Church of our Christian World. Otherwise it can be read as a counter thesis

to the Euro-Centric Chruch history written by revisionists.
